How would you describe your personal style?
I’d say my style is pretty laid back for the most part. I LOVE fashion and really enjoy getting ideas from different types styles. During the week, I am all about comfort, while still having fun with accessories and great shoes. I do love getting dressed up for the weekends and special events though. It is always nice to get all dolled up for a night out. Also, I have a bit of a shoe obsession...
Who is your all-time favorite designer and why?
To be completely honest, I don’t own much from high fashion designers – although I do admire their work. Most of my clothes come from a variety of different stores and a variety of different prices. I love a good bargain.
Alice & Olivia have the cutest dresses that I really love. Marc Jacobs is quirky and fun to wear. Dior is just stunning and timeless.
Do you tend to follow trends or do you stick to certain style no matter what is popular at the moment?
A little of both. One of my favorite things is to look through magazines and find the latest “IT” thing to wear. I don’t necessarily always wear those trends, but it definitely interests me. Investing in good pieces that will never go out of style is something I really believe in (great jeans, nice handbag, basic pumps, black blazer...).Do you have any fashion tips passed down from your mother or grandmother?
My mom is always very vocal about if she likes what I’m wearing or not. Her opinion is the one that means the most to me, so I usually always take her advice. Growing up, she let me experiment and wear what I wanted while still making the point that “more is less.” I got lucky because my mom knows style. ;)
Who or what do you look to for fashion inspiration? Who is your ultimate fashion icon and why?
There isn’t one particular person, but I love looking at magazines and people around me to see what they are wearing. It's really fun to take ideas here and there and see what you can come up with. I feel like I'm definitely getting more creative in my style as I am getting older. Kate moss' style is fantastic. Although a little too eclectiv for me, I'm always interested to see what Mary Kate & Ashley will wear. Vanessa Hudgens has great style too.
What film comes to mind when you think of amazing fashion that you found inspiring?
Cliché, but Sex and the City. I had never seen a TV episode before seeing the movie and I was in SHOCK at the clothes. Just amazing!! I love watching period pieces, too, to see the clothing.What are some of your favorite fashion basics that you wear all the time?
Urban Outfitters T-shirts, skinny jeans (J Brand, BDG, Blank, Hudson), Steve Madden flats in black, basic cardigan or blazer....
What piece in your closet screams, “I bought this just because it was on sale and now I have NEVER worn it?”
A HEINOUS zebra type print dress. It is floor length and I bought it because it was $100 dollars off. For some reason I just had to have it, and, of course, it still has the tags on. It’s pretty ugly....
Do you prefer to wear heel or flats? Or do you mix it up?
I’m 5'2", so I am pretty small, but I usually always wear flats or flat boots during the day. I love a great pair of pumps though. Definitely heels on the weekend and at nights!
If you have a special event and you need a dress in a matter of hours, where do you go knowing you will find the perfect outfit? Nordstrom is great because they have a variety of different brands. Urban Outfitters if it is more casual.Do you have signature piece of jewelry?
A diamond ring passed down from my grandmother.
If we looked in your closet, what color would we see above all others?
Black
How would you transition your day outfit into a show-stopping nighttime look?
Add some heels, some more jewelry and you are good to go!
What one item in your closet do you dress up or down depending on the event?
I’ve said this a lot, but a basic blazer. You can add it with jeans and a T-shirt for a daytime look or a skirt and heels for night.
Out of all the jeans you have in your closet, what does your favorite pair look like?
J Brand dark-wash skinny jeans!What’s the one irreplaceable item in your closet that you can’t get enough of and wish you could get a new version of?
A vintage Chanel bag. The reason it is so cool is because it looks old and worn, but I’m scared it’s going to fall apart!
What is your all-time favorite splurge item and did you get a lot of use out of it? Was it worth the hefty price tag?
I haven’t had any huge splurges yet, but I bought a Marc Jacobs bag not too long ago and I have worn the heck out of it.
What is one item in your closet that you would never leave your house without?
My grandma’s diamond ring or my Marc Jacobs watch.
What item do you find yourself buying all the time? Are you a shoeaholic, bagaholic, dressaholic, etc?
Jewelry. I pretty much collect it and I believe you can never have too many pieces.
Are you a warm weather fashionista or do you love the cold weather fashions and why?
I get so excited for fall because I love boots. I do love wearing little dresses and flip-flops, too, though.Source: ABC Family
