The theatrical trailer for “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2” has been released. The sequel to the 2005 summer blockbuster hits theatres on August 8th, 2008. Here’s an early look at what’s in store for Tibby, Lena, Bridget and Carmen. Lucy discusses her role as Effie

I was thrilled when I first found out I got the role of Effie in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" because I was a huge fan of the first movie. Filming took place in Connecticut and New York City. But we also traveled to Greece to shoot part of the film, and being there was like a fairy tale. It was perfect.

The best thing about being an actress is that I get to (sort of) live out experiences that I normally wouldn't get to experience in my regular life. I definitely get to do just that in this film. My character Effie is the sister of Lena (Alexis Bledel). Effie's a rather dramatic teenager who does some pretty significant things in the sequel that changes the outcome. If you’re familiar with the books, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Effie was actually a fun, young character to play.

I really loved working with America, Alexis, Amber, and Blake in the film. They are even more beautiful in person and they were very welcoming. It was also neat to work with some true Greek citizens. They helped us film a scene while in Santorini.

My experience in this movie has really been wonderful and I still can’t believe that I was part of such a wonderful cast and crew. I hope you guys watch the movie when it comes out. I know that there are many fans of the book out there, and of course fans of the first "Sisterhood" movie. About the Movie

"Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" is based on the fourth and final book by author Ann Brashares titled “Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood." Tibby, Lena, Bridget, and Carmen face their longest time apart. Their only connection is a pair of thrift store pants that miraculously connects them in life and in friendship.

Just as the girls experience changes in their lives, the Pants have a new look as well to echo the changes in the girls over the years. Now caught up in their own lives, the girls struggle to find a way to stay connected.

In this sequel Lena's sister Effie (Lucy) has a pivotal role in changing the friendship between the girls. Effie tests the sisterhood’s bond and the symbolism of the Pants. The sequel traces the characters' evolving maturity and friendship and will delight fans of the first movie and the Sisterhood books.

America Ferrara (Carmen), Blake Lively (Bridget), Alexis Bledel (Lena), and Amber Tamblyn (Tibby) reprise their roles from the first movie. "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" is directed by Sanaa Hamri and is scheduled for release in August 2008.
